Shanghai Velodrome

Not too long ago a few of us met up with the Shanghai Junior provincial team for a Saturday training ride. I'm not 10% sure on how they came to be at that school but as from my understanding, these junior riders were plucked out of middle school because they showed some talent in sports and had the opportunity to go to a special sports high school where they get to work half the day and train the other half. How they get involved in cycling and not underwater basket weaving im not too sure.

We met up at their school and noticed something that looked like a velodrome behind a gate.



I had to beg the guards to let me in just to check it out.






Apparently the school has a velodrome that basically never gets used and they rarely hold races. We're trying to figure out a way to open it up to us mere amatures.

China Car Track Racing

Not sure how the organizers pulled this off but we managed to have a crit on a car race track the same day they were having car racing and motorcycle racing.



Another funny thing was that Eric my teammate and manager for the specalized team happened to also be racing cars that day so we got to watch him tromp on his competition.

In the race 3 people got away so (2 teammates) so i sat back and managed to win the pack spring for 4th overall, not too shabby.



And the best part of the day was the red bull girls.

I'm Back

I'm now officially back from a 7 month hiatus. So here is something to give my blog a new kick start.
